Bicycle tour of the Port of MelbourneThis bike tour has been designed to follow the outer edge of the port and to let people know about what goes on in the various different areas of the port. Contained within the route instruction PDFs are text boxes of information about each section of the port - what they are used for and what is imported or exported through each.
Several roads on this bike route (Footscray Rd, Whitehall St, Hyde St and Somerville Rd) are very busy. Care should be taken whenever cycling along them. Starting point: Southern Cross Station (formerly Spencer Street Station). Finishing point and distance: Williamstown Station
(13.6km) Alternative finishing point and distance:
Southern Cross Station (formerly Spencer Street Station)
(14.4km)* *This route is only possible when the punt that runs from near
Scienceworks, across the Yarra, to Westgate Park is
operating (weekends and public holidays).
