of Melbourne is Australia's largest and busiest container port, handling
around 37 per cent of the nation's container trade. The Port of Melbourne
delivers significant integral benefits to our portside communities
including:
$21 million to the City of Maribyrnong's gross
regional product and directly employing 411 of its residents
$43
million to the City of Hobson's Bay's gross regional product and directly
employing 986 of its residents
$199 million to the City of Port
Phillip's gross regional product and directly employing 650 of its
residents
$750 million to the City of Melbourne's gross regional
product and directly employing 335 of its residents
