Port to undertake maintenance dredging to ensure safe navigation - 30 November 2011
Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) proposes to conduct maintenance dredging in South Channel in February / March 2012 to remove a naturally occurring build up of sand and ensure that the declared depths of the channel are maintained for the safe operation of shipping to and from the Ports of Melbourne and Geelong.

The Port of Melbourne has set a new Australian record for container handling, becoming the first port to handle 2 million containers in a 12-month period, Minister for Roads and Ports, Tim Pallas, announced last night.

New tariff schedule keeps a lid on price changes - 28 May 2007
Port of Melbourne Corporation today released its Reference Tariff Schedule for port charges which will apply from 1 July 2007. The new tariff schedule outlines modest increases to fund future capital investment in port infrastructure including berth enhancement, wharf rehabilitation, together with navigation system and security upgrades to provide improved services and facilities for port users.
