Rail crossing delays
Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) owns and operates a rail siding to Appleton Dock, Swanson Dock East connecting into the Patrick siding and the Australian Bulk Alliance siding and Swanson Dock West connecting to the P&O siding.

A rail road crossing protocol operates to minimise disruptions to the operations of both road and rail users. The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) manages the operations of the port rail sidings.
